of course the Australia Council knocked back my request for money to write my next novel. what did I expect? I suppose I'll try again next year when my list of actual fiction publication is longer and the component propped up with journalism is shorter. am deeply tempted to email them, though, asking exactly who one of the people who did get $10,000 is: I can't find her name anywhere. nothing. how "emerging" can she be then? grumble.
